Hanimaadhoo Airport completes LED runway lighting upgrade

Hanimaadhoo International Airport (HAH) has completed the switch-over of its runway edge, threshold and taxiway lighting to a new LED system supplied and installed by Airport Supply Solutions.

The programme replaced legacy halogen fixtures with marine-grade LED units engineered for the atoll's high-salinity environment. Total energy consumption on the airfield lighting circuit dropped by approximately 62%.

Commissioning took place over three consecutive nights during a scheduled NOTAM, with zero disruption to scheduled operations.
